Trombone glissandi appear to be the least understood device among composers
and arrangers.  It's a pity they don't refer to their Piston or Forsyth, or
at least talk to a trombone player before writing such things.  I doubt very
much that the author of the D-F# gliss intended it to be played on the Gb
valve or knew that such tuning would be available.
