[Trombone-l] How to take old Yamaha counterweights off?

If they have the vinyl label, just carefully heat the label & peel it off,
then unscrew it.

If it's the long barrel shaped kind, the only way to remove it would be to
unsolder one side of the tuning slide, as it's friction fit on the flanges
but stuck between the two legs of the main tuning slide.

Thanks
Eric

Subject: [Trombone-l] How to take old Yamaha counterweights off?

Hello listers,
can anyone tell me how to get the long flatYamaha counterweights off?
Not the round ones they have now (and always had on the 354),
but those they used on the older 681 and 683.

Thanks in advance
