I would caution you on the 50H slide. The 50H had problems with pitting
on the inner tubes. I'm not sure what years were involved. Also I
doubt that the lead pipes are the same as the 78H. That being said, I
have replaced the inner tubes on a couple of 50H's and replaced the
leadpipe on one with one from a Conn 88H (.525bore). It is now a great
playing slide. I think that the slides are interchangeable but I defer
to someone who knows for sure. The 50H slide fit a 76H century that I
had. I would consider having your 78H slide rebuilt.
