You might try the wrapping plastic that is used to bundle together wires. I
got several different types from Fry's Electronics. I find that the white
corrugated wire wrap which is about half inch wide tubing slit lengthwise is
great for around the neck pipe (which so easily put green on your collar and
neck).
Also I used the clear spiral wire wrap for around the thumb brace for a long
time. Also used it for a while on the handslide brace. I may resume using
it on my Bach 16 thumb brace (the one going from the neck pipe to the bell)
since I'm eating away at it again. I don't want to have to refurbish the
horn again. Too expensive.

Anthony,
Larry Black in Atlanta makes them, although I see
he isn't currently taking new orders.

I made my own from a leather steering wheel
cover. I made a sandwich of leather, then a layer
of thin (4 mil) plastic sheet and a layer of felt
that touches the horn. Stitched it to the horn
with an upholstery needle. I can send you pictures if you like.
