Also not a pit story, per se, but we have a chart in our big band book that had the second page printed first and the first page second.  Titled on the second page and everything - just the notes were wrong.  Started playing and couldn't figure out why it sounded wrong and then got lost while figuring it out (and the other bones giving side-wise glances and the saxes cringing!)  First thought it was just thoroughly screwed up but finally realized the situation.  Weirdest thing I've seen.  And only on the 1st bone part!  Ripped it in half and put it back together backwards and all is well.  Tune's still in the book, in fact - just don't recall what it is.
