Guys, You've got a brilliant ideas.
I've also benefited with this....thanks.
In addition to that, simply, trombone positions normally written above the notes in a single digit only, unless there is/are alternate positions for a specific note, then, if those numbers written in Slama's method composed of more than 1 digit, it is intended for other instruments like Euphonium, tuba or any.... Make a comparison for Euphonium fingerings, for instance, D above the staff is numbered 1,3- then, it is truly intended for Bb Euphonium of Tuba. . . i don't have any idea on what is written in that book you've mentioned........
