Actually, if you drip oil down the gooseneck the oil will go mostly into the 
rotor channel.
To make it go between the rotor and the casing (where it's effective:)
1. remove the toning slide
2. press the valve half way and drip the oil down  the gooseneck
3. Blow inside while plugging the other end (bell receiver, or mouthpiece 
receiver if the slide is connected) and move the valves
4. If you have to blow on an inner tuning slide (like some horns have: Conn, 
Edwards) you can use the mothpiece shank or a leadpipe to avoid touching the 
row metal with your lips.

Another method of lubricating (recommended by some manufacturers:
You can screw out one of the screws holding the horseshoe (the part holding 
the corks) and drip the oil through.
CAUTION: be sure not to lose the screw
