[Trombone-l] Extra low valve settings

The D slide included with the Weril is an option; it comes Gb (though it could be a misprint of G/Gb as well...

The additional weight does add some mass and projection, and some noted players have used it, or an even longer C slide (Ed Anderson leaps to mind). It also opens the D partial opan as a single valve partial, and you can obliterate the musicians and hall in front of you like you were armed with a WMD.

You do lose the options afforded the single Gb paddle, something dependent bass players are used to and don't mind.

A D slide is also available from Edwards, and You used to be able to get them from Bach too; now, who knows...

J.c.S. (who also dislikes the weight - but you look cool holding one!).
