Trombones at Tech to perform at Dogwood Park in Cookeville

Trombones at Tech, the Tennessee Tech University Trombone Choir, will
perform a free outdoor concert at 6 PM on Friday, April 18th, 2008 at
Dogwood Park in downtown Cookeville. The concert will feature works from
Bach to Barbershop, including Johann Sebastian Bach's famous Passacaglia in
c minor, the Adagio from Saint-Saens' Organ Symphony, a set of Fanfares for
trombone ensemble by Paul Creston and Leonard Bernstein, and Boneweek
Fanfare Number 5, written in celebration of the 2008 International Trombone
Week. The ensemble will also perform jazz works including Alexander's
Ragtime Band and 'Round Midnight.

"We will also play a set of tunes commonly associated with Barbershop 4tets
and male vocal ensembles, including Sweet Adeline, MOTHER, and Vive L'Amour.
You might even catch us singing on something...," says TTU Associate
Professor of Trombone, Dr. Joshua Hauser, director of Trombones at Tech.

"I hope that you'll be able to join us for an evening of fun works for
brass. Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the evening!"

In case of rain, the concert will be moved to Derryberry Hall at Tennessee
Tech, located at 1 William L. Jones Drive, Cookeville, TN 38505.
