Last Sunday evening this movie was mini-reviewed on Ebert & Roper. Roper also made note of the missing Mr. Armstrong and commented that, and I'm paraphrasing now, the 12 Astronauts are not unlike the 12 Apostles -- each bears the burdens of their own making, or something to that effect. This comment struck me, and I thought about the fact that Neil Armstrong was the very first human being-- the first of only 12-- to ever set foot on another celestial body. I then began to see how something like that could change someone's entire perspective on life and everything connected with it. Neil Armstrong has his own burdens to bear and his own reasons not to participate. He should not be condemned for that.
