I use Sno-Proof for oil-tanned leather. It’s a waxy grease version of
neatsfoot oil. You actually have to heat the leather and/or the Sno-Proof
up, in order to get Sno-Proof to penetrate the leather. A warm oven or the
hot sun will work. But once in there, it also won’t ooze out. And it
conditions the leather like neatsfoot oil.

I’ve been using it on leather ski gear, since I was a kid (a long time ago)
and its always worked wonders for me. It WILL darken the leather, creating
a beautiful oil-tanned look. I’ve had such great luck with Sno-Proof that I
look at products, which promise not to darken the leather as “obvious
rip-offs”, out to take money from unsuspecting lovers of suede.
