[Trombone-l] Arm Pain

Before I found out about the Ergobone, I took off my second valve to
help with the weight problem. I had a little bit of adjustment, not too
much - mainly in relearning the flat E pull. Then I only needed the
double valve about once a year, mainly on some new pieces that the
orchestra would play that had specifically double valve-type licks (The
Joan Tower Flute Concerto had a devil of a double valve solo lick).

When I started using the Ergobone, I immediately put the second valve
back on, because the balance was better and, as I was getting used to
the Ergobone I used fewer long positions at first.
