"Trombone Heaven", Vancouver 1978.
This was recorded a couple months
before Frank Rosolino's suicide, and may well be his last recording. I am certain it was his last recording with Carl Fontana. As far as I am concerned, it is right up there with the "Cream of the Crop" as far as Rosolino and Fontana playing goes.
This session was recorded "live" in Vancouver, August 12, 1978.
Rhythm section is Elmer Gill -p, Torban Oxbol - b, George Ursan - d.
Tunes:
Here's That Rainy Day / Stardust
Well, You Needn't
All Blues
Just Friends
Laura / Embraceable You

Total time: 79:09

I live in the middle of Montana, ordered it via PayPal on Wednesday, and it arrived Saturday.
(the following is from another group I subscribe to)
"last year Sea Breeze re-released The Last Recording, which was recorded
in Los Angeles on August 1, 1978, less than two months before
Rosolino's tragic death. The selections include two takes each of
"Misty", "I Thought About You", and Frank's own "Waltz for Diane", with
pianist Larry Willis (ex-Blood, Sweat, and Tears), bassist Kevan
Brandon, and veteran drummer Billy Higgins."
