[Trombone-l] Slow mail or none? and an annoyance

Warning, not trombone related, respect related.

This past week I sent a couple of employees to the local schools to
encourage the kids to recycle in the cafeteria.

At the elementary and middle schools the kids thought it was a great idea
and were glad to put the food waste in one bin, paper in the next, plastic
over there, etc. At the high school the kids threw food at the employees
and ran them out. They came and told me, "I won't go back and you can't
make me!" Same background on all these kids, but they apparently hit an age
where you can't do much, then later mellow out again. Glad I don't have to
go through that again.

On the other hand, I have two high schoolers of my own, and they wouldn't
dream of acting that way, nor would I tolerate it if they did.

I don't really miss the courtesy until I get to Salt Lake City. For reasons

unknown, kids there are respectful, like it's not cool to be aloof there.
It's really refreshing, even if no one can direct you to the state store
(liquor store).
