[Trombone-l] an annoyance

Sometimes wish we didn't need spam filters, they're such trouble at times, 
but not as much as the spam I suppose. S'funny that spam always gets through 
when important correspondence from a close friend gets blocked, despite 
their address being in my exceptions list.

Incidentally anyone notice that spellcheckers want you to spell spam with a 
capital S - get outta here! Surely only when referring the canned meat of 
that name beloved by us Brits in WWII.

So I take on board somebody's observation about these filters but I do also 
agree that all too often people, often those who wouldn't dream of letting a 
cellphone message go to voicemail (even in a meeting or rehearsal), regard 
replying to an email as optional.

Whilst spam filters might be to blame in this case I get a lot of this from 
organisations as well. Seems to me that they add an email address to their 
stationery to (a) filter out phone calls they don't want to deal with and 
(b) make themselves look "modern". I agree with Ray about how little time it 
takes to reply to an email. You could even have a standard message set up 
using the signature facility.
