I wanted to let you know about a beautiful new jazz vocal CD just released by my friend and colleague Calabria Foti. Calabria's husband, trombone virtuoso and doodle-tongue legend Bob McChesney, produced the album, wrote the string arrangements, and (of course) plays the cool trombone solos.

>From the "Who knew?" file: Calabria's Dad, Richard Fote, edited the Kopprasch book for trombone with F-attachment. Any of my fellow bass trombonists who got their F-valve technique together using his book (as I did) should express their gratitude by picking up this CD!  

Bob tells me that he is working on both a new book and a new CD of his own. I'm sure you'll hear about those when they arrive. My book, "Los Angeles Studio Brass Players" (with co-author Malcolm McNab) is also nearing completion.
