On the number of instruments, I'll weigh in with the following:
Just for kicks, and as one more way to re-examine my life in general, here's
what I have. I have been paid to play each of them in the past three years.
Here they are:
Bach 42B Gold brass bell and original valve with Shires lightweight nickel
long slide (slide a recent acquisition). The bell is 32 years old, the slide
is two months old;
Bach 36B Gold bell with regular slide, purchased 1982;
King 2B, vintage 1951, rebuilt by Terry Pierce;
Bach 39 Alto Trombone;
Edwards Bass trombone w/ two Thayer valves;
Bach bass trumpet (woof);
Willson 4 valve non-compensating euphonium.
Plus 40 mouthpieces
The horns I love to play are the Bach 42B with the new slide, and the King
2B. The dog is the Bach bass trumpet. For what it's worth. Tom Olcott
