An ageing bass trombonist with no imagination? Keith, I never got your
email! ;-) If you mean a D slide all by its lonesome; Bb, F, D, [sort of] B?

If that's is what you're considering, my advice would be to save your money.
I bought one for my Edwards several years ago, when I had lots of cash
[US$175 at the time]; I only ever used it once, on the Hostias section of
the Berlioz Requiem, in order to play the low pedal notes as 2nd
harmonics... wasn't worth that expense.
