[Trombone-l] safe time to start, was Mouthpiece buzzing and children

I was thinking of a soprano trombone, and just teaching him to read bass 
clef; then when his arms are long enough to reach seventh position, 
switching to trombone.  It was very easy for me to go from slide to 
valves, but it seemed to be harder for my valved pals to go the other way.
