Yeah $299 is what you should expect to pay.  I have one.  I like it.  The
User Interface on the H4 itself is a little clunky but it works.

It connects via USB to your Mac/PC and you can drag and drop files pretty
convieniently.  It can also serve as an audio interface for your computer,
but I haven't really checked out that function.
