The Zoom would be a good way to go. It's called the H4, and I have
two friends who have them. I have heard recordings, and they sound
very, very good.
Digital recordings. I don't know about the transfer to a Mac, but I
know they work well with Bill Gate's stuff.

I've actually been looking at one of these to record my big band's
rehearsals. VERY COOL technology. You won't find any better quality
for any less money anywhere.
The sell for about $300. Street price might be somewhat less. But
at $299 -- it's a bargain.
Good luck.

they make a field recorder call a zoom or by zoom that
is just awesome so you can take it anywhere hand held

I'm in 8th grade and am going to need to make a lot
of
audition recordings in the coming years. I have a
mac
which I belive is good for recording, but don't have
any any equipment such as a mike. I'm looking into
purchasing recording equipment as it could save me
a
lot of money for college. What do you need to
record
and what would be good for recording trombone?
