Nick Drozdoff is is a good friend and a really fine trumpet player who lives
in Chicago.
He sent me this e-mail recently and he has only has until May 15th.
The winner will be decided on that day. I think he played a great solo and I
voted for him.
If you decide to participate, you can decide who you think played the best.
This contest is sponsored by Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, which,
I think, is one of the best jazz ensembles playing today, so by voting you
are also helping out the cause of big band jazz music.

Here's a note from Nick. Granted he is "tooting his own horn" in this
message but what the heck:

> Hello, folks.

> I can use your vote for my solo on the BigPhatJam competition. Just go to
> this page and scroll down the Trumpet/Trombone list. Find my name, listen
> to the 90 second track and then vote by hitting the thumbs up. I'm going
> to need over 2000 votes by week's end if I'm to make the finals!

> Thanks in advance for your kind support.
>
> Peace.
