Hey Jeff,
You're right... it is much like a 3rd tenor part. I actually
played it on my Greenhoe Bach 42 last year, because it did not
require a 2nd trigger and I'm able to project well enough without
the help of a 9.5" bell. I mean, there's one mvt in which all
three trombones are sustaining a high Bb at the end. There's also
a few A's and G's. Actually, the bass trombone part could easily
pass for a 2nd tenor part, come to think of it. So, I wouldn't
sweat trying to play it on bassbone, unless you want to, of
course.
