Yes! The Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg 
has a very large instrument collection, including 
many brass instruments, and not a few trombones 
from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Highly recommended!

The Anton Schnitzer trombone I mentioned is in 
the Local History and Pilgrimage Museum in 
Altötting, which is several miles from the 
Austrian border and about two miles from the 
village where the present Pope was born.
