I'm sure many of you have played arrangements by Tommy Newsom.  Doc
Severinsen is on his farewell tour this year.  Tucson being a popular
retirement locale, the old timer's get a wonderful reception here.
Doc's fans were thrilled to see him at his recent performance with the
TSO.  So much of his pops rep was arranged by Newsom.  All of it GREAT.
The current crop of arrangers that I've experienced are good.  They
write more challenging stuff sometimes.  But none of them are better
than Newsom.

know you will keep him in your hearts and his music will live through  
all of us.
