Typewriter - Instrument used for written communication before Al Gore
invented the internet.
What about the bell? IIRC the Anderson piece uses the bell that sounds
at the end of the line.
I've seen the Boston Pops perform this and it's partially (mostly)
theater. You kinda need the action of the "musician" throwing the
carriage back after the bell rings.

If you go internet shopping avoid the Remington and Underwood
"Noiseless" typewriters. They aren't very good percussion instruments.
No clack when you depress the key.
