[Trombone-l] alto or tenor of first trombone

We had a discussion about which composers to use alto or tenor on the first trombone part a while back (could be 3-4 years) and I can't find it in the archive.

Does anybody have a record of where it might be? I can only find a few comments in November 2004 archive and I have someone interested that has researched the subject.
