I got mine around the same time, and some 20-odd years later, I still play
it. It's got a really nice resonance close to the bell, so it's a nice
horn for soft playing with a mic in a combo setting or for recording. I
also used it about a year ago for the tenor part in the Mozart Requiem
with a chamber orchestra.
I'd say the value is comparable to a 50's 6H. I haven't shopped for horns
lately, but that's probably $800-1000 last I looked.
