[Trombone-l] Motivation and inspiration

In my recent "teaching embouchure" thread, Wayne raised the point that successful teaching is a great deal about motivation.  I thoroughly agree, but often find it tricky to get students (and parents, as they are most often the chauffers) to go and see shows and buy CD's.  And often the CD's that I play for them produce the response, "yeah, that's alright, I guess."  Hardly the motivating response that I hope for!

What do you guys find success with?
