[Trombone-l] Equipment Question and Euphonium - now Planets

I just did the Holst with a community orchestra. There are enough things
happening in both the trombone parts and the tenor tuba part that you
really need four players to not leave anything out. My group brought in a
another player to play first, and I just stayed on euph., (and reinforced
the bass bone in a few strategic spots). Equipment was my 1975 Besson
Sovereign, converted by its original owner to a large receiver, with a
Denis Wick 4AL mouthpiece-
I spent my "drive time" (to gigs and work) listening to both the NY Phil
recording, and Black Dyke (brass band). Interesting contrast- Funny, our
'cellos never did sound like Robert Childs.
