> Also, you might want to experiment with mouthpieces... Too many "doublers" use something like a 6.5AL or a 5G and these TROMBONE mouthpieces are usually to U-shaped to get a characteristic euphonium sound.

Also, most trombone players new to the instrument play the euphonium
too loud and bright in ensemble situations [maybe since the sound is
coming at them at a new angle...?]. There is a nice resonance to a
euph that is very different from a "good" trombone sound which takes
some time to find.

I couldn't agree more.

There are a couple mouthpieces that do adequately on both, but nothing does it well. A trombone is a trumpet - a Euph a tuba. Even a flugelhorn player doesn't use his/her trumpet mouthpiece on their flug (well, there are a couple "doubler" fluges with the trumpet receiver, but seriously...). We must conceptualize both differently. And they tune very differently too, regardles of how many helpful contraptions we add to the euph.

I have no idea if the Perantucci euph mouthpieces are still around, but I wouldn't part with my 2A at gunpoint. It doesn't work in any trombone - sounds like crud.
