[Trombone-l] New York Gigs in August

Hi

 

Will be visiting New York City with my family (kids aged 18 and 21) for the
first time 8-16 August and staying around Times Square.  Can anyone advise
on where I can find out about any gigs we could see, or make any
recommendations?  Jazz bars, restaurants would be good.  Would also like to
take in some electric/Chicago blues and R+B if possible, ideally with horn
sections attached as that's the sort of band my son and I play in.
