[Trombone-l] Highest note

I know that when I was a Freshman in High School (80's) I was AMAZED to hear
a 'Double G' (what we called it) on the 'Stan Kenton Plays Chicago' Album
from Dick Shearer on 'Alone'. We ended up playing that chart my Freshman
Year and Steve Schoppert played the lead. I actually have that chart sitting
in my file cabinet for 'someday when I can do it myself'. :)

Maybe not the highest, but the note that still sends chills up my spine is
the gorgeous high "G" that Dick Nash plays close to the end of "Impossible"
on the Trombones Inc. recording.
I suppose that a G is not considered all that high these days, but he sure
does it for me.
I remember that, for many years, I thought it was an Ab, because my
turntable was running a little fast. Ah well, I guess that G will have to
do.

Hmmmm.......I've been a member of this list since close to it's inception
and don't recall anyone asking about the highest recorded trombone note.
Any thoughts??

I don't know if you can call this singing, but it sure as heck is some
high
screeching. Georgia Brown apparently holds the Guiness record for the
highest recorded voice. Let's just hope she doesn't show up on a 5 hour
wedding gig.
