Bart -
SKB makes a golf case that you can put your gig bag into. Make sure you
stuff it around the edges with clothes or bubble wrap or something.
This has been a very good solution for a lot of traveling trombonists.
You just check it at the gate. It's probably even safer (and certainly
cheaper!) than a Walt Johnson or any other type of hard case in my
opinion.

Subject: [Trombone-l] Case ? - Traveling to Italy and UK
Hello All,
I'm traveling to Italy, back to the US, and then back to England a year
from
now and need some advice on a case.
I have a Shires Tenor with F attachment and need some ideas on traveling
with it. Do not have a hard case.
Have contacted Walt Johnson and he stated they are not making those
cases at
this time. Any ideas? I have an
Altieri gig bag for it.
Thanks a ton!
