[Trombone-l] Help! Fat lip and 2 gigs today (Canada Day)

I'm the other side of Toronto, smack in the middle of London/Sarnia/Windsor,
over an hour from all or them. It's a lot more rural than you might think.
Biggest city in the county is Chatham, pop. about 40,000. Thanks everyone
for the suggestions. As I said originally, I used ice and ibuprofen before
the gig. Did the damage at about 10.30 AM. Swelling did go down a lot.
Parade started at 4:00, was over at 5:30 or so. Big mouthpiece and low parts
was a good thing I think. More ibuprofen and ice until the smaller band
played at about 6:30, and thank goodness we only played one set about an
hour long. Made it through okay, definetly played it safe on solos. No major
gymnastics, that's for sure! Wife says she couldn't tell from the audience.
Says she can still see the damage though!
Thanks again guys, great responses from a great bunch!
Patrick
