Are you a Mac user?

If so, there is a great little dashboard widget that is neat.  It  
includes a piano that spans 5 octaves, and tells you what octave the  
note is in, such as you mention here.  C3, A3, etc.

Very cool.

Here's a really cool Dashboard widget.  It calculates tap tempo,  
notes to Hz, hard disk space to time remaining, and other cool stuff.
