A friend of mine is giving up playing for medical reasons. He's made
the decision to sell all his gear. I have listed several items on eBay.
Your basic straight neckpipe for the T350 (large tenor). Convert that
bad boy to a straight horn. You'll be surprised how much of a
difference it makes. The Thayer valves are great, but for the times
when you don't need the valve, a straight horn plays easier and more
responsively.

A lightweight 525/525 slide is like new condition. This is a very nice
slide. There has been a lot of discussion recently over at
tromboneforum.org about the limitations of 547 horns in concert bands
and other settings where many voices need to be heard without driving up
the volume level. 547 horns are great for classical symphony where the
trombonist is often asked to deliver a high impact, maximum force
passage. In those cases, you really do want the sound volume, but in
many other instances, you need clarity and penetration. A smaller slide
really helps in that regard. This lightweight 525/525 slide is a great
choice because it is a clear step apart from the 547 slides. I have
another 525/525 slide with nickel oversleeves and it sound closer to the
the 547 slides. In addition to providing a useful timber change, this
slide is simply less massive than the 547 slides, so it is easier to
play fast passages.

And here is one you will not often see. It is a standard Edwards hard
case, but the owner had Dolly Bags make a really cool cover for the case
that effectively turns the hard case into a gig bag in terms of
convenience. It has a nice outer pocket and shoulder strap. Of course
the whole thing is heavier than a gig bag, but with the shoulder strap,
it feels a lot lighter than you might think. This is a really good
idea. I'm surprised more people haven't thought of that

He will also be selling a fantastic Edwards 500 bore horn soon. Contact
me if you have an interest in that.
