[Trombone-l] Michael Brecker passed away

Yes, I know, Michael’s music was way too mainstream for a “true jazz lover”, 
but I thought that his recent stuff was wonderful.

When I first heard him, years ago, his playing was a bit gawky.  Now, I’m 
inspired by how he took those meager beginnings and developed them into such 
powerful communication.  His music was both personal and, at the same time, 
rhythmic enough to dance to.

And whereas many an artist outlives his/her creativity and chops, Michael 
died in the middle of a growth spurt.   I, for one, will certainly miss him.
