[Trombone-l] carmina burana

Carmina Burana...one of my favorite pieces!  As a vocalist, I really  
like a recording I pulled down from iTunes. Orff: Carmina Burana  
Leonard Slatkin with St. Louis Symphony.  Hakan Hagegard is the  
baritone soloist on this recording.  The choir at East Central  
University, where I am a librarian, did Carmina last year. (Yes, they  
do let librarians sing in the choir.) We were beginning to think the  
piece was cursed!  One of our accompanists died of a sudden heart  
attack two weeks before the first concert date. Our conductor was  
hospitalized for an emergency appendectomy.  Needless to say, I was a  
bit worried about my friend who took over as conductor! (a music  
faculty member who also sings in the choir)  His biggest fear was  
that his tux pants would fall down while conducting! ;-)    
Fortunately, we managed to pull it off without any more deaths or  
major injuries.
