Ashton,
Some good advice has been given by John and Jeff. My opinion:
The 651 is a quite old discontinued model that has been overhauled. Who
knows what kind of shape the inner slides are in on a horn that old?
Who knows how beat up the horn was before they over hauled it? They are
asking too much for an older used horn (starting bid over $800 US). It
is located in Australia (hassles with payment and shipping, etc.). It
wasn't a very popular horn even when it was new (I was around back then).
The 691 looks like a fairly recent one to me. Appears to be in very
good condition. It is a very popular model that is still in
production. I've played a few of these and I think they play great.
Removable leadpipe is a plus. Starting bid is very reasonable. Horn is
in the US (I'm assuming that you are). If I could buy it for $500, I'd
buy it (bidding will probably go higher). Seller says you can return it
within 30 days. I suggest you contact him to find out how much the
shipping will be just to make sure he doesn't try to screw you on that.
