I have 2 horns for sale.
1) King 1490 Symphony Model. 9" solid sterling bell, .547 bore, F
atachment. Serial number #410826, late '60's. This is the forerunner of
the 5B, and is the horn played by Kenton bass trombonist Bart Varsalona.
It is in very nice condition. There are a few small dings in the bell
and main tuning slide, and there is some minor lacquer wear on the hand
grip and neckpipe. There are some scratches on the bell, but not
serious. The lacquer is original, and all in all it looks really nice.
There is some slight plating wear on the inside slide tube stockings. I
have cleaned and alligned the slide, and it works really well. Includes
the original case which is in good shape, and some type of mouthpiece if
you need one.
Asking 900..
2) Olds Recording model trombone. Straight horn. .458 / .500 bore. 8
inch red brass bell. "fluted" inside chrome plated slide tubes. Nickle
silver trim. Beautiful engraving. Original case and mouthpiece. Horn
purchased new in 1957. Sent back to Olds factory in 1968 for complete
overhaul, which included new inner slide tubes and relacquer. It still
looks beautiful, only a couple of scuffs. This horn was babied by it's
one owner.
Asking 650.00
