The band was "Uncle Yoke's Black Dogs" -- Uncle Yoke being Steve Yokum, a 
bone player.

The tuba man was Dave Gannett .... and yes, fire shot out of his tuba on 
command.  He was & is as fine a jazz tuba driver as you will ever meet.  
Look for his CD "Tubas from Hell".    He is also a fine human being.
