One of the players at the top of my list is James Pankow.  Other players include JJ, Mark Nightingale, David Steinmeyer, Bill Russo (heck, the whole Kenton bone section from that era); down on the bass side some of my favorites include George Roberts, Randy Hawes, Charlie Vernon, Doug Yeo, Bill Reichenbach, plus many more in both categories.
   
  And of course I can't forget my first influence on the horn--the guy that gave me the crazy idea to play this weird looking instrument in the first place: Earl Needham.  Thanks Dad.
