For some slightly farther left trombone inspiriations, check out George
Lewis, Roswell Rudd Steve Swell, Jeb Bishop...

Rudd and Lewis have both done great work with Steve Lacy.  The stuff George
Lewis did with Anthony Braxton is also very good.
