My wonderful wife called to ask me to take the champaign out of the refrigerator and put some beer in, in stead.  I like champaign but I love beer.

My niece, who's going out, and I just celebrated an early toast, with a can of Guinness.  Wife and I will have crab, salad with croûtons and some dark beer, in front of the tube or in the hot tub or something.   We gratefully consider ourselves too old to bother with trying to celebrate new year's eve (unless there's a new year's jam).  

Usually we also baby sit, but haven't been asked, this year.

So everyone, have a happy and prosperous new year and be safe.
