[Trombone-l] gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy) recovery?

Thanks so much for all the responses to my query, which
have helped me gather "real life" information about what
to expect if I do end up having to undergo some kind of
abdominal surgery.  (I'm still hoping that won't be the case.)

If someone else searches the archives another time, I'd
like to note that I received about twice the number of
private replies as public replies, and while most of the list
replies indicated a relatively quick recovery time (from a
few days to a few weeks, varying by kind of surgery,
type of surgery - laprascopic or conventional - and individual
differences) most of the private replies described recovery
times that were quite a bit longer.  (None, however, were
over ten weeks).   Unfortunately, several players did report
having hernias from playing too soon after abdominal surgery,
so I think  hoping for the best (quickest amount of time), but
expecting the  worst (longest amount of time) is the the most
prudent approach to take.  If it comes to surgery I'll arrange my
schedule accordingly, allowing for plenty of time.
