I think that the doctors have no idea about how little pressure one puts into a trombone.  They think of trumpet players with their cheeks bright red and puffed out and think playing a trombone must be about the same.  I'd say you'll have more trouble moving your trombone and case around then playing the trombone, once you get there.  

...but maybe that's why I'm an electrical engineer and not a doctor.
