Friends,
Last year my lovely wife had her gallbladder removed with the three little
holes method. She came home the same day and returned to work the next day
That being said she doesn¹t play a wind instrument, she¹s an educator. I¹m
not a doctor and I don¹t even play one on TV but my advice would be to
follow the MD¹s recommendations to the letter. It¹s a drag being away from
the horn for that length of time but you can fill those practice hours with
musical activities. Listening to the ³great ones², ear training and the
study of theory could really improve our performances and enjoyment of
music. In some cases being away from the instrument can be a good thing.
This really makes you want to return to playing and gives us an opportunity
to fix any problems with our chops, air and slide control. Best of luck with
your surgery. Please keep us posted.
Best wishes,
Dean Hubbard.
