"Tighter" is an odd term that could mean a lot of different things. If you are talking about slotting, then it may very well be that a smaller bell plays a little "tighter". If you mean that the sound is more focused, then again, a smaller bell might make the instrument play a little "tighter". If you mean that you can hear yourself a little better, then again, a smaller bell could make the instrument play a little "tighter".
It sounds like a cool instrument to me. I like smaller bells (in case you hadn't noticed).
