Here are a few possibilities I have found useful in my teaching. I will
separate my list into pre-college and university level repertoire;

Pre-college:
Hindemith: 3 easy pieces [Drei leichte Stuecke] orig. cello
Lassen: Two Fantasy Pieces [Zwei Fantasiestuecke]
Lieb: Concertino Basso
Sachse; Concertino in F [transposed version oF the Bb tenor concertino]
Catozzi: Beelzebub [originally for tuba]
Eric Ewazen: almost anything - Concerto and/or Ballade for sure...
More advanced, but if your student is motivated and talented he should look
into these as well:
Vaughan Williams: Concerto for Tuba
Lebedev: Concerto #1 and Concert Allegro
Halsey Stevens: Sonatina for tuba or trombone [use the included tuba part]
Bozza: New Orleans
Brahms: four Serious Songs
Galliard; Sonata #1 orig. bassoon
McCarty: Sonata
Spillman: Two Songs
Vaughan Williams: Six Studies in English Folksongs

Hope these suggestions help - most of the pieces I have recommended
originally were brought to ME by my students!
